My work is inspired by my love of animals. My intention when making them is that the work will give the viewer a feeling of the animal's spirit and a positive feeling of well-being, peace and love. The doves, especially, are meant to give the feeling of peace and community when grouped together. The doves are beautiful standing alone as well.

I take commisions to custom sculpt dogs in various sizes. I sculpt your dog from photographs.

9 x 4.5 x 6 inches

I made this rabbit while looking at a live white rabbit that was given to me as a present from a friend while

I was on a grant to make animal sculpture at the Jing De Zhen Ceramic Institute in Jing De Zhen , China

under the mentorship of Professor Zhou Guo Zhen, who specializes in clay animal sculpture. The rabbit would jump around my little studio on campus while I worked and eat greens I bought it at the outdoor market.

Flock of Doves

11 x 5.5 x 4.5 inches

I sculpted these doves while sitting outside with clay and looking at birds in a park. I remember a passerby once stopped while I was at work and asked how I caught the dove in my hand. I told him it was a clay bird that I was making and he thought it was awesome. The birds do give a peaceful feeling. They can be displayed alone or in groups.

8 x 4 x 7 inches

The inspiration for this horse were Chinese Tang Dynasty horses. This is less stylized and the finish is like Greek marble statues. I love the feeling of dignity, pride and elegance that the Tang Horse sculptures give.

Wood Duck

13 x 6 x 8 inches

Dog Waiting for Tummy Rub

7 x 6 x 3 inches

This dog was inspired by one of our family dogs when I was a teenager. The dog's name was Brandy and was a yellow lab mix. She loved to have her stomach scratched more than anything. Such joy!

Sleeping Dog

6.5 x 2 x 5 inches

This is my lab mix, Kirby, curled up sleeping. I could make a custom sculpture of your dog sleeping.
