We are all divine beings and we can consciously connect to Source, the Universe or God. That is the source of our true, authentic power. We are then limitless and grounded in love. The question is “How do you do that?”
A very effective way to consciously connect to the Universe or Source is to look up and visualize sending a cord of your energy up from the crown of your head about 300 feet up and connecting with Divine light and love. Source energy feels deliciously loving, bright and supportive.
You can feel the divine light and love coming down into the crown of our head, filling up your body, and then you can take it down through the soles of your feet into the earth. You can visualize taking this cord of energy down to the bright molten core of the Earth where there is loving Mother Earth Source energy.
From the core of the Earth, you can visualize bouncing this cord of divine light and love back up into the soles of your feet, up through your body and filling your heart.
You can ask that this Divine light and love expand out in all directions from your heart to fill the building that you are in, then expand out and fill the city you are in, then the state, then you can ask that this divine light and love in your heart expand out to fill the country and then expand out to fill the entire planet.
At this point you are really standing in your power and you can walk around all day connected to Divine light and love this way. You can consciously send Divine love and light from your heart to an entire room or place and feel the energy shift.
It is important to know that when we feel good, we are aligned with our soul, spirit and higher self. When we are relaxed and feeling good, or in meditation, we can feel guidance from from our higher self in the form of intuition and the still small voice. And when we are aligned with our soul, that is when we are truly in our power and things work out in amazing ways.
This is another reason why it is so important to train the brain to be in Alpha brain state, a relaxed brain wave where you have clarity of mind and impulse control so you are no longer reacting to things that happen and instead can respond in more effective ways.
In Alpha brain state you are connected to intuition and it is hard to worry and think negative thoughts. You are in a state of mind where you are no longer spinning your wheels in stress and negativity. Your brain is no longer stuck operating in only one hemisphere and you can achieve the whole brain state where your whole body begins to work with great coherence between all body systems. Solutions pop into your head.
How do you get into Alpha brain state? In order to re-wire my brain to be in Alpha brain state, instead of the habitual Beta state that most people are in all day long, I set alarms to go off on my phone every day when convenient. When an alarm goes off I stop what I am doing and do a breathing pattern (I breathe in to a slow count of six, hold for 2, breath out to a count of six and hold for 2, for 2 or more minutes). I set alarms all through the day. Try starting with 6.
If you are stressed, its hard to do a breathing pattern so you first have to relax by thinking about doing something that is very relaxing for you and this will relax you enough so you can do a breathing pattern.
The consistency of doing this re-wires the brain so eventually it becomes automatic.
The effects on my life have been really amazing. This has been incredibly helpful in my life in so many ways. I am happier and have way more joy in my life.
Friends who have done this have told me it has been very helpful for them as well. Scientifically, this has been proven and written about in many books. The Worry Free Mind by Kershaw and Wade is one great resource.
If I consistently do this breathing pattern throughout the day and also get present in my body by feeling awareness of every part of my body, and get into the whole brain state, then with intention I can focus in the present moment and it feels blissful.
This is when Flow state really happens and you reach peak performance, the 5 most potent feel-good chemicals are released into the body, creativity skyrockets by as much as 700%, the immune system heightens dramatically, and the list of benefits goes on and on. We are all most powerful when listening to our own inner guidance, our own intuition and inner knowing. Nobody else can know this for us. We can only feel this when we are relaxed and in a space where we feel good, or in meditation or prayer. Other great ways to hear the still small voice are walking in nature, exercising, taking a shower…
We can know if something is true for us by our gut feeling and also if it feels light and expansive when thinking about it. If the body constricts anywhere, something is not in alignment.
It has taken me a very long time to realize that listening to other people and their thoughts and advise is really not the best way to go. Intellectually, this is obvious. This is one of the biggest ways that people lose their power.
What happens is that you give your power away by thinking someone else knows better. I have done this way more times than I care to admit.
Once you are on your right path, getting help from knowledgeable people is great. And the wonderful thing is that the right people and information will just appear and you will get a hunch that this is something that will be beneficial for you.
The Universe will also send you experiences to make you aware that you have patterns that you need to clear. I wrote a blog on effective ways to clear these patterns. This will also help you stand in your power. Awareness is the first step.
It is crucial to know that we cannot stand in our power if we are feeling the victim. Whenever we are blaming something or someone for something, or upset that something is being done TO us, then we are in victim mode.
It is key to realize that we are in this state first, and then we can get out quickly by forgiving the self and everyone involved taking 100% responsibility for our lives. Forgiveness will clear anger and rancor. I talk more about this in another blog with that heading.
In order to stand in your power it is also important to release guilt and shame. Self forgiveness and self acceptance will clear guilt and shame. EFT is also a great tool that you can google online. Christie Marie Sheldon, who has a website, loveorabove.com has a very effective way of clearing that I talk about in an earlier blog with that headline. I love that she says you can “blow up your issues”!
To stay standing in your power it is important to approach anything with the mindset of focusing on the solution. As soon as you focus on the problem, your energetic frequency plummets and since there is a Universal truth that “Whatever You Focus on Expands” you are then just inadvertently deepening and growing the problem.
To be of most help, stay in a high frequency by staying connected to Source, staying in Alpha and whole brain state and present in your body by feeling awareness of all parts of the body. Abraham Hicks calls staying in a high frequency, “Tuned in, tapped in and turned on.”
Another great way to feel you are standing in your power is to feel as if your are a tree trunk from your hips down to the ground and that huge roots grow from the soles of your feet deep into the center of the Earth.
I once heard Oprah say that Maya Angelou told her a saying that recognizes that we are all a product of the thousands of generations that came before us and of everything that they brought to us. I find this statement of Maya Angelou and Oprah very powerful: “I come as one but stand as 10,000!”
