I recently re-read an explanation of what causes suffering and it really got my attention. It was written in a book called 10 Messages Your Angels Want You to Know by Doreen Virtue who says the entire book was channeled through her by divine guidance.
She says all the suffering of this world is from thinking or acting in a way that is the opposite of Source energy. The opposite of Source energy is fear, and its attributes of guilt, jealousy, competitiveness, perceptions of lack and so forth. The key is to live from a space of love.
Gary Zukov, in his book, Seat of the Soul, also says the human emotional spectrum can be broken down into 2 basic elements: fear and love.
Zukov explains that anger, resentment and vengeance are expressions of fear, as are guilt, regret, embarrassment, shame and sorrow. These are lower frequency currents of energy. They produce feelings of depletion, weakness, inability to cope, and exhaustion.
The highest energy current, he says, is love. It produces buoyancy, radiance, lightness and joy.
He explains that your intentions create the reality that you experience. Until you become aware of this, it happens unconsciously. Therefore, be mindful of what you project. That is the first step toward authentic power.
He says if you attend to the negative aspects of life, if you choose to focus your attention on the weakness of others, on their faults and shortcomings, you draw to yourself the lower frequency currents of disdain, anger and hatred. You put distance between yourself and others.
If you choose to focus on the strengths of others, on the virtues of others, on that part that strives for the highest, you run through your system the higher frequency currents of energy, appreciation, acceptance and love.
Zukov says that eventually you will choose to create harmony and love. You will choose to draw to you the highest frequency currents that each situation has to offer. Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything. It is not a question of if but when. He is talking in lifetimes.
He says every situation that you experience serves this purpose, and when you choose to respond to life’s difficulties with compassion and love instead of fear and doubt, you create a “heaven on earth”
A lot of times it is totally unconscious, the choice to act from fear or love, due to generations of programming and old patterns.
It is actually not possible to completely live in the space of love as everybody sometimes gets triggered and thrown into a fear-based reaction because of old wounds and old patterns.
When something happens to trigger egoic fears, it is easy to jump on the fear pathway. Everybody has an emotional trigger propelling them into fear-based thoughts and actions.
The ego tries to vigilantly protect yourself from danger. That is its job. This makes you uptight, worried, and never at peace no matter how many accolades you get or how many material possessions are accumulated.
The ego prides itself on being separated from others in a uniquely special and better way. The ego insists on human perfectionism as a way of feeling better than others. And to maintain this illusion it is necessary for the ego to target other people’s egos.
The ego is always jockeying to feel above or better than others so it judges and compares to achieve this end. The ego views love as weakness and anger as strength.
When you judge yourself or someone else, you are automatically cast onto the path of fear and misery — even if it seems justified.
Any form of judgement is an affirmation that you are separate from other people. To see similarity between people or hold compassion is threatening to the ego.
Choosing compassion instead of judgement, though, brings great inner peace.
This is where discernment saves the day.
Instead of labeling something or someone as “good” or “bad” you can think instead, “I am not attracted to this or them.” i.e.. “I am not attracted to the smell of cigarette smoke and I will stay away .” There is no labeling then, but there is an acknowledgement of your honest feelings.
Holding loving thoughts leads you to be universally compassionate and forgiving towards yourself and everyone.
In truth, forgiveness is not saying what someone did is ok.
Forgiveness is not the same as passivity or pardoning.
Forgiveness heals as it lets go of rancor and anger. Forgiveness of the self lets go of guilt and shame. All of these are low vibrational frequencies which will keep you from being able to tune into intuition and guidance from your higher self.
Living from the guidance of your intuition and higher self is the way to live in your authentic power, be aligned with your soul and in happiness, peace, love and abundance. It is how to live in heaven
Heaven is a consciousness, not a far away place to get to after you die. Happiness does not come from circumstances being the way you want them to be. It is a consciousness. It comes when you are living on the path of love.
The experience of heaven comes, as Michael Beckwith says, “When we learn to develop a kind of non-reaction to phenomena of apparent negativity. You are here to dispense divine gifts, not to get anything. You think, “How can I bring VALUE to these individuals that are coming into my life?
He explains that you will be guided to be an answer, a solution, an energetic vibration. When you step into that space and when you decree something, it will manifest because you are not out of alignment with the fundamental order of existence. Now you’re finding yourself in heaven.”
Being loving does not mean that you need to spend time with people who are walking on the path of fear. You can inspire them, though, through making evident in your life the peace and joy that comes from living your life from the space of love.
The path of love is centered internally, while the road of fear always looks for external solutions. On the path of love you joyful intend to share your peace joy, energy and other assets with others.
On the love-based path, your entire focus is on joyfully following your intuitive messages and sharing your gifts as you are guided. You are immersed in love instead of in insecurity, guilt, obligation, competition and other forms of fear.
If you keep an attitude of gratitude, which is an attribute of love, it acts like WD40 and helps you slip by things that might come up in your path. Gratitude keeps you filled with the energies of love, kindness, compassion, vulnerability, truth and honesty. These are really the vibrations of pure Source energy.
There are really only two true options. You can think and act either from love or fear. It truly is a choice between happiness and misery.
